I’m launching the Fauxquet Folio blog to help with any floral questions you have but to also showcase some other beautiful small businesses out there! Since launching Fauxquet, I have had the pleasure of meeting, working and collaborating with some lovely homewares and interiors businesses and would love to have a space to feature some of their work and truly hope you find some other beautiful brands to enjoy in your home.
A little about Fauxquet and how it all started…
Launched in December 2020, I (Olivia) had been on maternity leave during lockdown and had been searching for a creative outlet. Having previously worked at Disney HQ as a product development manager before relocating to Suffolk, I wanted an outlet which I could channel my creative side into! Having moved into a home which doesn’t have huge amounts of natural light, and having a passion for flowers, I combined the two to create Fauxquet (pronounced Fo-Kay, a combination of faux and bouquet). With a small investment for some faux flower stems from a local supplier I created a few one-off arrangements, an instagram account and that was that! I’ve not looked back since!
Artificial flowers have come a long way over the years and are almost indiscernible from their fresh counterparts, they have a multitude of benefits (which I’ll be sharing in a later blog post) and with a little investment can be enjoyed for years to come. I absolutely love having flowers in my home, and whilst I enjoy a fresh bunch occasionally, faux absolutely has a place and has added a beautiful focal point and interest to the rooms where I wouldn’t normally have flowers. I love sourcing new stems, working on seasonal limited editions, creating new arrangements and working on bespoke orders with everyone from brides through to hotels, restaurants and offices. Faux flowers really do work anywhere and I truly hope you find something you love here.
